The Oracy Hub provide resources to help pupils to develop children’s skills and confidence in speaking. Their resources focus on enabling pupils from year 5 upwards to Speak Up and Speak Out in formal and informal presentations, debates and discussions enabling them to examine and order their own thoughts, listen well and consider the views of others, providing a strong framework for self-esteem and respect for others.
KS1 & 2
This YouTube channel from CLPE (Centre for Literacy in Primary Education) has 11 short videos of well-known children’s authors demonstrating how they draw some of their characters. Children can watch and pause the video, copy alongside them and maybe even create their own new stories for the characters.
Year n to 6
A whole school unit of work based on Oliver Jeffers’ ‘Here We Are. The unit is designed to encourage a sense of community, reflect on the last few months and also help look forward to the future in a positive way.
