Headteacher Support
As a headteacher your well-being is of paramount importance and it is vital that you can access professional and personal support. There is evidence to support the belief that access to supportive and non-managerial discussions aids the well-being of headteachers. It is also widely believed that it is good practice for governors to allocate specific funding for the support of headteachers’ well-being, which should be provided by a suitably trained and experienced external professional. Funding for this activity is met by the school, in line with the governing body’s statutory duty of care.
